KANSAS CITY, Mo. &ndash; Ottawa University had eight teams named NAIA Scholar teams. Volleyball (3.35), women's outdoor track and field (3.23), men's golf (3.21), men's outdoor track and field (3.20), women's soccer (3.15), men's cross country (3.09), women's cross country (3.05) and softball (3.05). The Iowa Wesleyan volleyball team is the 2009-10 NAIA Scholar-Team of the Year, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Tuesday. The Lady Tigers, under the direction of head coach Jill Blake, finished in the top spot with a 3.82 grade point average during the 2009-10 academic year. This number once again smashes the previous years' total of 409 and sets a new all-time high for this award. For the first time in program history the Ottawa University volleyball team has earned the award. ATLANTA, Ga. - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its winners for the 2009-10 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. This award, given in NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA and Junior College/Community College, awards teams throughout the nation that carry the highest grade point averages (GPA) for the entire season based on the nomination submitted by WBCA-member head coaches. Fort Hays State is a new soccer program and will not begin competition until the 2011 season. They will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

OU Sports Medicine is suggesting that women's basketball comes in at 3:00 p.m., volleyball and football at 4:00 p.m. The other sports teams can attend at any time during the three hours. But these three sports will receive priority during their assigned times so that they can complete the process before they play that day. We will also be doing orthopedic screenings during orientation weekend in August. 

ALL ATHLETES: new and returning need to complete the process. Questions can call 785-242-5200 Ext 5427.
