2009 Women's Soccer Roster

#3 Whitney Bowen

Bio: 2009: Whitney played in all 21 games, starting 14 for the Lady Braves. She was second on the team in points (31), second in goals scored (12), led in assists (8) tied for the team lead in shots on goal (34) and led OU in game winning goals (5). For the third straight season Whitney was a first team All-KCAC selection. She was named KCAC Offensive Player of the Week for week six. Whitney earned her first goal of the season versus Benedictine College (9/19), her first assist of the season versus Manhattan Christian College (9/1) and her first game winning goal of the season versus Mid America Nazarene University (9/22). She had two multi-goal games which brings her career total to nine. The first game was versus Southwestern College (10/28) and the second versus Friends University (11/10). Whitney is first in the OU record books in career points (107), second in career goals (45), second in multi-goal games (9), second in career assists (17), first in shots on goal (110) and tied for first in hat tricks (5). 

2008: Whitney earned first team All-KCAC for the second straight year. She appeared in all 20 games, starting 17. Whitney scored her first goal of the season versus Central Christian College (9/9). She tallied her seventh career multi-goal game with two goals versus the University of Saint Mary (11/1) and dished out a career high two assists versus Northwood University (9/21). Whitney was second on the team in points (32), goals (13) and assists (6).

2007: Whitney started 20 games as a Lady Brave, scoring 20 goals and dishing out three assists in her freshman season. For her efforts, Whitney earned KCAC Player of the Week, first team All-KCAC, KCAC Freshman of the Year, first team All-Region IV and NAIA honorable mention All-American honors. Whitney also set a school record for shots on goal (46) and hat tricks in a season (4). She broke the Peoples Bank Field record for most points in a single game (9) and goals scored in a single game (4).

High School: She was a four-year letterman in soccer and earned Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2006 and 2007. Whitney was also selected as Attacker of the Year in District 4-5A during the 2006-2007 season.
