Box Score
OTTAWA, Kan. – The three goals scored by the Lady Braves would be all that they would need as OU downed Avila 3-1 on Tuesday night at Peoples Bank Field.

All it took was 1:10 for the Lady Braves to take a lead on the Eagles. Whitney Bowen scored her fourth goal of the season off of Theresa Crane’s fourth assist of the season giving OU a 1-0 lead. Five minutes later the Lady Braves stretched their lead to 2-0 on a goal by Alex Rivas. Ottawa scored its third and final goal of the game off of a shot by Amanda Talbott. OU had an 8-4 advantage on shots and a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.

Avila opened the second half attacking the Lady Braves. The Eagles were able to get on the scoreboard at the 84th minute mark on a goal by Mollie Brown to cut OU’s lead to 3-1. Neither team scored the final nine minutes of the contest and OU earned its third win of the season 3-1.

OU goalkeeper Lauren Peil had six saves on the night. Avila outshot OU in the second half, 11-9 but OU had the edge for the game 17-15.

Up next for the Lady Braves (3-0-0) is a road trip to Crete, Neb. to play Doane College on Saturday, Sept. 11th. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m.
