Volleyball Downs Southwestern, Falls to MidAmerica Christian

WINFIELD, Kan. - The Ottawa University volleyball team defeated Southwestern College in the opening game of KCAC play 3-1; 18-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-16 on Saturday afternoon at Stewart Field House. The Lady Braves played MidAmerica Christian University in the second game of the day, falling 3-2; 25-16, 17-25, 25-18, 17-25, 13-15 to the Evangels.
Abby Eisman, Kristen Hendrickson and Rebecca Dinsmore led OU with nine kills apiece in the 3-1 victory over Southwestern. Chrissie Jeannin had 34 assists and Katie Jensen led OU with 19 digs.
In the second game of the day, a 3-2 loss to MidAmerica Christian University, Eisman led OU with 16 kills on 35 attempts. Hendrickson was the other Lady Brave in double digit kills, she had 14. Jeannin led OU in assists with 34 on 127 attempts and Jensen tallied 30 digs.
Up next for the Lady Braves (2-1) is the Baker Classic held in Baldwin City, Kan. on Friday Sept. 10th and Saturday, Sept. 11th. OU will play Sterling College at 11:00 a.m. in a non-conference match on Friday and then play McKendree University at 5:00 p.m. On Saturday OU will play another KCAC opponent in a non-conference match when the Lady Braves take on Bethel College at 9:00 a.m. OU will then play John Brown University at 11:00 a.m.
