Men's Hoops Inks Second Cloud County Recruit

OTTAWA, Kan. - Ottawa University’s men’s basketball program has announced the signing of Chris White-Ready for the upcoming 2010-2011 school year. He is from Lawrence, Kan. and is a transfer from Cloud County Community College. White-Ready attended Topeka High School.

White-Ready, a 6’5” forward, was a two-time letterman for the T-Birds. He averaged 10 points and 5.2 rebounds his sophomore season at Cloud County. At Topeka High White-Ready was a two-time Kansas Class 6A All-State selection who the Trojans to back-to-back state tournament appearances. During his senior season he averaged 16.1 points and eight rebounds per game. White-Ready was a KBCA All-Star selection his senior season

“Chris is an extremely talented forward that will have an immediate impact on our varsity program,” said OU head coach Andy Carrier. “He has the ability to create his own shot and score inside and out. Chris is a welcomed addition to this year’s strong incoming class.”

White-Ready is the son of Terry Downing and plans to major in exercise science. He joins former Cloud County teammates Chris Tate and Antonio Stewart as part of the OU basketball program.
