OTTAWA, Kan. - Ottawa University’s men’s basketball program has announced the signing of Colby Regier for the upcoming 2010-2011 school year. He is from Topeka, Kan. and attends Hayden High School.
Regier, a 6’6” forward, earned four letters in basketball and golf for the Wildcats. He also earned all-academic team honors all four seasons. Regier helped Hayden High School to the 2008 State Championship on the basketball court and to a third place finish at state. He helped the golf team to a third place finish at the state tournament. Regier averaged five points and four rebounds during his senior season. He earned the Coaches Award and was a four year member on the honor roll. He will be a two sport athlete and play golf for the Braves.
“Colby is an outstanding student that comes to Ottawa from a winning program at Hayden High School. He is a physical inside player that plays with great passion,” said OU head coach Andy Carrier. “Colby is also an outstanding golfer and will be a great two sport athlete. He is a true winner and we are thrilled he has chosen Ottawa University.”
Regier is the son of Gary and Lori Regier and plans to major in human services.
