OTTAWA, Kan. - Ottawa University’s baseball program has announced the signing of Jeremiah Williams to a letter of intent for the 2010-2011 school year. He is from Hastings, Neb. and will be transferring from Cloud County Community College in the fall of 2010.
Williams, a left handed pitcher, had a 3.14 ERA with 27 strikeouts in his freshman season at Cloud. He played on an all-star team at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. in the fall of 2009. During the game he allowed three hits and struck out two.
“Williams (Willy) is a very solid pitcher and will give our much improved pitching staff even more talent. He has experience being a starting pitcher as well as a reliever,” said OU head coach Joe Reed. “One of the most mature and personable people I have come to know, Willy will also add leadership and bring a championship level of attitude to the clubhouse. We look forward to having him as a Brave in the fall of 2010.
Williams is the son of Clark and Janet Williams and plans to major in physical education.
