OTTAWA, Kan. - Ottawa University’s baseball program has announced the signing of Justin Parton to a letter of intent for the 2009-2010 school year. He is from Derby, Kan. and attended Mulvane High School.
Parton, an outfielder/pitcher, earned two letters in baseball and one in football for the Wildcats. He helped lead Mulvane High to the Kansas 4A State Tournament his senior year. Parton earned first team all-league outfield and second team all-league pitcher.
“Justin is a multi-tool type of player with outstanding athleticism. He is an outfielder and right handed pitcher that possesses good speed, quick hands, strong arm and can reach base frequently,” said OU head coach Joe Reed. “Justin has an awesome attitude and has the determination to succeed in college. Combined with his strong work ethic, his passion for the game is contagious and will make a welcome addition to the Braves Baseball team. We look for many quality things from Justin as he plays baseball and is a member of the community here at Ottawa University.”
Parton is the son of Michael and Tara Parton and plans to major in communications.
