OTTAWA, Kan. - Ottawa University’s baseball program has announced the signing of Cole Meeks to a letter of intent for the 2009-2010 school year. He is from Tuttle, Okla. and attended Oklahoma City HomeSchool.
Meeks, a pitcher, was a four year letter winner in baseball and earned three letters in basketball for the Broncos. He helped the Broncos to the 2009 HomeSchool World Series and to a West Regional Championships. In 2008 the Broncos were HWSA World Series Runners-up and earned a West Region Championship. In 2007, Meeks helped the Broncos to the 2007 KCAA Tournament Championship and helped them to the 2007 HWSA Tournament National Qualifier. Meeks helped them in 2006 to the HWSA National Championship and to a HWSA West Regional Championship. Meeks was selected in 2007 to the KCAA All-Tournament team and spent the summers of his junior and senior year playing for the OKC Ambassador Baseball team.
“Cole is an exciting signee for the Braves Baseball program. He is a strong RHP that has had a very successful high school career in the Oklahoma City area that looks to get even better through college,” said OU head coach Joe Reed. “Cole has a live arm and outstanding mound presence showing his maturity and level of knowledge for the game. He has a great attitude and strong desire to help this program get to prominence. The Braves Coaching staff is excited Cole has chosen Ottawa University.
Meeks is the son of Kevin and Janice Meeks and plans to major in exercise science.
