Men's Hoops Falls to Baker

FAYETTE, Mo. - The Ottawa University men's basketball team fell, 93-66 to Baker University on Saturday afternoon at the KCAC/HAAC Classic hosted by Central Methodist University. The 66 points OU scored is a season high for the young Braves.

Ottawa was behind 48-31 to the Wildcats at the end of the first half. Baker shots a blistering 56 percent from the floor and was 7-9 from behind the three point line. 

The Braves couldn't get any closer in the second half and the Wildcats defeated Ottawa 93-66. For the game OU shot 43 percent from the floor (25-57) while Baker was 35-69 for 50.7 percent. Baker led in points in the paint 32-22 and had a 31-25 edge in bench points.

OU had four players in double figures led by Corey Smith with 14 points on 6-10 shooting. Jake Carter had  13 points on 3-4 shooting from the floor and 7-13 from the free throw line. Kyle Schreiner scored a career high 12 points on 5-14 shooting and Chris Tate had11 points on 5-10 shooting. 

Up next for OU (0-3) is a road trip to Haskell Indian Nations University on Wednesday, Nov. 11th to play the Indians in Lawrence, Kan. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
