Bethany College Head Coach Jamie Cruce: Jamie Cruce took over as head football coach for the Swedes following the 2006 season. During his first year at the helm, Cruce and the Swedes tripled their win total from the previous season as they had their best record since the 2002 season. A fourth-place finish was in sharp contrast to the preseason polls, which had Bethany picked to finish last in the KCAC. Cruce is a 1998 graduate of Bethany College. He holds a master’s in physical education from Northern State University (NSU). Cruce graduated from Salina South High School in 1994 and played linebacker at Hutchinson Community College before transferring to Bethany. He was a linebacker on the 1995 and 1996 KCAC championship teams, captained the 1997 team and earned All-KCAC honors. Cruce’s three year playing record while at Bethany was 25-5 including a 22-2 conference record.
Rankings in the Poll: The Braves have stayed at number seven in the latest NAIA Coaches Top 25 Poll. Friends University is number 14 and McPherson College is right behind at number 15.
Milestones: OU senior receiver Corey Schultz has hit the 1,000 yard receiving mark with two games left in the regular season. Schultz now has 1,033 yards and is just the fourth Brave receiver to go over the 1,000 yard mark. He is 51 yards away from breaking the school single season receiving mark of 1,083 set by Tom Starck in 1997 and Kim Hendrix during the 1978 season. Sophomore receiver Clarence Anderson has 991 yards and is only 93 yards away from the record himself. If both players get over the 1,000 yard mark then this will be the first time in program history that OU has had two receivers with over 1,000 yards in a single season.
Sack Masters: The OU defense put on a show last week in OU’s 42-10 victory over Kansas Wesleyan. The Braves defense sacked KWU quarterback Doug Webster a school record tying 11 times. Josh Hojje had three sacks on the day and tied the single game record.
School Records: This season there have been 11 school records broken and or tied for the Braves. Quarterback Ethan Haller has broken, up to this point, six school records

and Single Season Total Offense (3,234).
The receivers have set a school record in receiving yards (3,394) and are close to breaking three more. The Braves defense tied a school record for sacks in a single game (11) and sacks by an individual (3 by Josh Hojje.)
