OTTAWA, Kan. - Ottawa University’s softball program has announced the signing of Courtney Cripe to a letter of intent for the 2010-2011 school year. She is from Carbondale, Kan. and attends Santa Fe Trail High School.
Cripe, an outfielder, is a three year letterwinner in softball for the Chargers. She also earned letters in volleyball, track and cheerleading. Cripe was an honorable mention all-league selection and was the starting pitcher at the stats tournament in 2008. Last year as a junior, Cripe had a batting average of .333, a slugging percentage of .407 and a fielding percentage of .730.
“We are very excited that Courtney has decided to join the Lady Braves softball program. She has a great work ethic and a team first attitude,” said OU head coach Jay Kahnt. “Courtney is a very good outfielder and works hard every day to get better. She will be a great addition to the campus and our program.”
Cripe is the daughter of Darin and Dayla Cripe and plans to major in exercise science.
