KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Braves fell 80-66 to Avila University on Tuesday night at Mabee Field House. Ottawa is now 20-14 all-time versus the Eagles.
Ottawa was only down by six points after one half of play to the Eagles, 33-27 after shooting just 31 percent in the first half. In the second half though both teams shot lights out. Avila was 18-26 for 69.2 percent and the Braves were 16-28 for 57.1 percent. Ottawa was not able to close the gap and the Braves were defeated 80-66.
Avila outscored OU 32-26 in the paint but the Braves bench outscored the Eagles 32-23. OU was led in scoring by Corey Smith with a career high 17 points on 6-13 shooting. Jake Carter came off of the bench and had 13 points on 4-6 shooting.
Up next for the Braves (1-6) is a road trip to Fulton, Mo. to play William Woods University on Saturday, Nov. 21st. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
