TOPEKA, Kan. – The OU men's tennis team competed in the Wheat State Games hosted by Emporia State University on Friday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 9.
Karlo Skvorc fell 6-4, 6-4 to Emporia State University's Charles Gortzouian. In his second match of the day, Skvorc was defeated 8-4 by Oskar Unger. In Mekasha Tadious' first contest of the day, he was defeated 6-1, 6-0 by Paul Haase. He fell in his second match to Oscar Donker, 9-7. In his first collegiate match, DJ Mead was defeated 6-0, 6-0 by Miguel Valle. Mead fell 8-3 to Greg Teal in his second match of the tournament.
In doubles, Skvorc and Fuyikiri was defeated 8-3. Tadious and Mead fell in a tough first match, 9-8. In their second match of the day, the duo was defeated 8-1.
