OTTAWA, Kan. – The OU men's track and field team competed at the Ottawa Braves Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Bo Boucek Track.
James Wilson-Shirah competed in the 100M, finishing third with a time of 11.68. He also completed in the 200M, running a time of 24.48 to finish 11th. CJ Whitaker also competed in the 200M. He ran a time of 24.55 to place 12th.
Isaiah Messick ran the 1500M, finishing 12th with a time of 4:47.29. Whitaker also competed in the 100M Hurdles. He ran a time of 16.84 to finish third. Joseph Bergthold and Brandon Hensley both competed in the 3000M Steeplechase. Bergthold ran a time of 10:47.37 to finish second. Hensley placed fifth with a time of 11:11.54.
The OU 4x100M Relay team finished first with a time of 43.53. TyQuinton Guy competed in the high jump. He finished third, clearing 6-00. Guy, Jsaquan Alexander-Riley and Logan Mong competed in the long jump. Guy finished third with a jump of 22-04, Alexander-Riley placed sixth (20-09), and Mong finished 10th (18-07).
Guy, Mong, and Alexander-Riley also competed in the triple jump. Guy placed third with a jump of 44-01, Mong finished sixth (40-08), and Alexander-Riley placed eighth (38-07).
Michael Jensen, Tyler Hooks, and Trevior Graves competed in the shot put. Jensen won the event with a throw of 47-07. Hooks was right behind him in second with a toss of 44-05 and Graves placed third with a throw of 43-08. Jensen also competed in the discus. He finished second with a throw of 127-01.
Hooks, Jensen, and Graves all competed in the hammer throw. Hooks placed third, finishing with a throw of 143-00. Jensen finished with a throw of 135-03 to place fourth. Graves, placing ninth, had a throw of 115-04. Enrique Bordallo placed third in the javelin with a throw of 122-00.
The Braves are back on the track at the Tabor College Invitational on Saturday, April 22 in Hillsboro, Kan.
