BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The OU men's track and field team competed at the Baker Relays on Saturday afternoon.
Tyler Hooks and Michael Jensen both competed in the hammer throw. Hooks finished ninth with a throw of 140-00. Jensen was right behind him in 10th, finished with a throw of 134-03. Jensen and Hooks also competed in the shot put. Jensen finished second with a throw of 49-07.00, which is the best throw in the KCAC this season. Tyler Hooks placed 10th with a toss of 43-03.00.
TyQuinton Guy finished fifth in the high jump with a clearance of 6-00.50. Jasaquan Alexander-Riley placed sixth in the long jump with a leap of 20-09.00. Logon Mong finished 15th with a jump of 18-06.00. Enrique Bordallo finished the javelin with a throw of 116-02 to place 16th.
Guy and Mong both competed in the triple jump. Guy placed sixth with a jump of 41-03.75 and Mong finished seventh with a leap of 40-04.25. Competing in the 1500M for the Braves was Isaiah Messick. He finished 23rd with a time of 4:58.27.
CJ Whitaker ran a time of 16.05 in the 110M Hurdles to place fifth. Joseph Bergthold and Brandon Hensley both competed in the 3000M Steeplechase. Bergthold finished seventh with a time of 10:38.97 and Hensley ran a time of 11:11.71 to place 10th. James Wilson-Shirah finished fifth in the 100M Dash with a time of 11.04.
Messick also participated in the 800M for the Braves. He finished 35th with a time of 2:23.90. Wilson-Shirah placed 10th in the 200M Dash with a time of 22.94. Alexander-Riley also competed in the 200M, running a time of 23.96 to finish 18th.
The Braves are back in action on Saturday, April 8 hosting the Ottawa Braves Invitational at the Bo Boucek Track.
