OTTAWA, Kan. – Ottawa University women's tennis player Allison Corfield has been named to the 2017 KCAC Preseason Team the conference office announced on Thursday afternoon.
Corfield, a junior from Jamberoo, New South Wales, Australia, finish 2015-16 with an overall record of 24-9 in singles and doubles record of 29-7. She was named ITA Region II (Central) ITA Player to Watch. Corfield was named KCAC Newcomer of the Year and earned First Team All-KCAC honors. She had a singles record of 19-5 in duals, 5-4 in tournaments and 5-1 in the KCAC. Corfield finished the year with a record of 18-5 in no. 1 singles. She was ranked 40th in the ITA NAIA National Singles Rankings. In doubles with partner Jennifer Luedtke, the duo was ranked no. 17 in the ITA NAIA National Rankings. The pair went 20-4 in duals, were 26-7 overall, 6-3 in tournaments and 6-0 in the KCAC. They were 20-4 in no. 1 singles and went 10-0 in their last 10 matches. At the 2015 KCAC Individual Championships, Corfield earned a third place finish for the Braves in no. 1 singles and she teamed with Luedtke to win the no. 1 doubles championship.
The Braves are back in action on Sunday, March 19 at Gardner-Edgerton High School against nationally ranked Missouri Valley College. The match is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
