LINDSBORG, Kan. – The OU women's tennis team competed at the Bethany Invitational on Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14. No team scores were kept. Teams that participated in the tournament were Bethel College, Tabor College, Seward Community College, Ottawa University, Baker University, Barton Community College, Newman University (NCAA II), Lindenwood University (NCAA II), William Jewell College (NCAA II), Missouri Western State University (NCAA II), Washburn University (NCAA II) and Kansas Wesleyan University.
In Women's A Singles OU's Madeline Bellew fell in her first match of the tournament to Newman University's Kirstie Symon. That loss moved Bellew to the back draw. She fell in her second match of the day to Meara Smith of Missouri Western State University.
Jennifer Luedtke fell in her first match in the Women's B Singles. She fell to Lauren Huddlestun of William Jewell College. In her second match of the day, in the back draw, Ludtke defeated Barton Community College's Kelly Brauer. She was defeated though in her third match by Piccamiglio of Lindenwood University.
In Women's C Singles, Taylor Eubanks fell short to Carissa Villaflor of Newman University. Eubanks rallied to win her second match of the day with a victory over Maria Rodriguez from Kansas Wesleyan University. She fell to Castro of Lindenwood University in her third match.
Kimisha Peterson defeated Baker University's Lulu Ruding in Women's D Singles. She moved to the back draw. Peterson was defeated by Courtney Irwin of Barton Community College.
Ellen Agnew joined Peterson in Women's D Singles. She fell in her first match of the day to Vipavee Ngamsiri of Seward Community College. In the back draw, Agnew was bested by Washburn University's Ashlynn Sutton.
Bekka Bailey and Danika Good both participated in Women's E Singles. Bailey won her first match of the day over Seward Community College's Grace Golden. She was defeated in her second match by Jackie Arnold, also of Seward Community College.
Good was defeated by Lindenwood University's Shreeja Karki in her first round match. In her first match in the back draw, Good defeated Rebecca Brining of Barton Community College. Playing Alyssa Dougan in her third match of the day, Good was defeated by the Missouri Western State University sophomore.
In Women's A Doubles, the duo of Bellew and Luedtke were defeated in their first match by Paula Lopes and Paula Coyos of Seward Community College. In the back draw, they won their match over the Weavers of UNA but fell to Meara Smith and Ceara Boldridge of Missouri Western State University.
OU's second doubles team of Eubanks and Peterson won their first match in Women's B Doubles. They defeated the Barton Community College team of Courtney Irwin and Brittanie Eskut. In their second match, Eubanks and Peterson fell to Lindenwood University's Castro and Medvedeva.
The Lady Brave doubles team of Bailey and Good were in Women's C Doubles. The duo won their first match of the day against Seward Community College's Naomie Bukassa and Grace Golden. In their second match of the tournament, Bailey and Good were defeated by Lindenwood University's Karki and Walkenhorst.
Up next for the Lady Braves is a the ITA Regional Championships held at the Koch Tennis Center in Omaha, Neb. on Friday Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 21.
